I have some sad news to share today. Narragansett Council’s Scout Executive, David S. Anderson, passed away early on the morning of December 28th. The Council has issued a statement, which also includes his obituary, here:

Dave was always a strong ally of the Association, and his dedication to Scouting was always evident in his actions. He will be sorely missed.
Although there will be no visiting hours, and his burial will be private (at his request), a memorial service is being planned for mid-January. I’ll follow up with more information as I receive it.

The Memorial Service has been scheduled for Saturday, January 14th, 2012, beginning at 10:00am in Roberts Hall, Rhode Island College, 600 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence, RI. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Rhode Island Boy Scouts Endowment Fund in David's name.
