About the Camp Cachalot Alumni Association
The Camp Cachalot Alumni Association is a not-for-profit organization by and for the extended family of Cachalot Scout Reservation, Plymouth, Massachusetts. It is dedicated to preserving the history, and traditions of "the place we know so well…".
The Association was founded in 2004 after several years of planning, with the express purpose of providing support for the camping facilities of Narragansett Council, BSA, especially Camp Cachalot. It operates under the auspices of the Narragansett Council. For more information about the structure and operation of the Association, please consult our bylaws.
In light of the recent sale of Camp Cachalot to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Association is currently assessing what role it will play into the future. We have every intent of continuing to support the extended Cachalot family going forward, and continuing to preserve and celebrate Cachalot's traditions as best we can.
In February of 2022, we surveyed the Cachalot family to get a sense of what they want to see us do in the future. You can find the results of that survey here.
Membership in the Association is open to any individual who has visited or has otherwise been involved with Camp Cachalot or any of the predecessor camps or Councils. More information about membership can be found on our membership pages on this web site.
