The Council is holding a "Gathering of Eagles" at the Airport Grille in New Bedford on October 23rd, and has asked us to let our members know. Here's the information:

Dear Fellow Eagle Scout:
This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Eagle Scout award. Some of you have received it recently and some of you received it 40 or more years ago. Whenever you received it we’d like to have a reunion of sorts for those of you who were part of the scouting experience in the Cachalot and Moby Dick Councils or who have settled in this area since your active Scouting days in another Council. In celebration of both the anniversary and of your having achieved Scouting’s highest honor, we invite you to attend a special “Gathering of Eagles” on October 23rd, 2012 at 6:00 PM at the Airport Grille located at 1569 Airport Road in New Bedford, MA.
We hope you will join us for this great evening to:
· Share some memories (bring photographs of your scouting days)
· See some old friends, make new ones, re-connect with former camp staff from Camp Cachalot
· Bring that box of patches, neckerchiefs, T-shirts, sweatshirts you found while cleaning the basement or attic. Bring it to share or bring it to donate to the Narragansett Council incipient project to reconstruct the history of the Cachalot and Moby Dick Councils.
· Learn how Scouting has changed and how it has remained the same over the last century
· Learn what Scouting is doing today to assist in the lives of young people.
There is no cost to attend this event and you can confirm your attendance by returning the enclosed postcard or by sending us an e-mail at jwidmark@narragansettbsa.org and if you are in contact with any fellow Eagle Scouts please feel free to extend the invitation to them.
Our lives would have been very different had we not been involved in Scouting. You may have a similar feeling. I hope you will join us for an evening of reminiscences, fellowship and fun.
