It's that time of year again: if you're planning on joining us at Cachalot for our annual Labor Day family camping weekend (September 3rd through 6th), please drop us a quick email to familycamping@cachalotalumni.org so we have an idea how may people we might be expecting. If your Association membership isn't current (you can check with us by email if you're not sure; be aware that our 2009-2010 membership year ended on June 30th), please be prepared to renew on arrival.

In terms of a service project, we plan to spend some time working to eliminate the Phragmites reeds (an invasive species) that have started to take over portions of the shoreline of Five Mile Pond, especially in the area between the Boat House and the council ring. If you'd like to help, most of the work will be in the water tying off bundles of reeds just above the water line and cutting them back. We'll have tools to do this, but bring swimwear (water shoes might be a good idea too).
