|
|
OK, folks. I've just put up a few new camp staff pictures from the 1980's up in the history section. I've dusted off what's left of my grey matter from that point in time, and I think I've gotten most of the names right. I'm not 100% sure of all of them, and I am missing a few. Anyone who wants to fill in a few blanks (or correct one of my faulty memories) please have a look at any of the following pages:
1986 Summer Camp Staff
1988 Cub Day Camp Staff
1989 Summer Camp Staff
1990 Summer Camp Staff
Follow-ups to this thread are fine, or you can drop me email.
While we're on the subject, anyone who has photos from their own years on staff and that is able to scan them, I'd appreciate it if you'd email me a scanned JPEG (or Photoshop, or TIFF, or whatever -- I can open just about anything,) with as many names and positions as you can remember, would be appreciated. I prefer scans close to 1200x1024. If you don't have the ability to scan yourself, I'm hoping that at upcoming reunions I'll be able to set up a scanning station so folks can bring in photos and I can quickly get digital versions of them. More details on that when we actually announce our first reunion. _________________ Dennis

How'd you end up doing on this? I know we e-mailed and used the message system here for a couple of things. Did you fill in most blanks? Also, I know you had mentioned before that there were a couple from our time that you may be missing, let me know what they are I may have them. I know I have most if not all of the staff years I was in. _________________ May the Spirit of Scouting rest with us,

I'm still missing names in several of the pictures I've already posted, and I haven't yet received any other years. In terms of the years I was at Camp, I haven't been able to find my copies of the '85, '87, or '91 staffs. I probably have them somewhere, but after multiple house moves I have no idea where they landed. Actually, I may not have the '87 shot, since I was out of camp having an ulcer diagnosed the day it was taken (Chuck Hammond missed that photo sitting, too, if I remember correctly.)
Someone mentioned an '84 staff picture, but I haven't seen one yet. _________________ Dennis

http://palmor.us:8080/CampC/CampC.htm
I had actually made that page WAY back so I don't laugh too much at the commantary. I'd love to find out where the rest of the camp promotion slides went to (I took over 10 rolls of film that summer). Anyone have any ideas?
John

Gah! I've tried really hard to forget that Amish/Mrs. Paul's fisherman-lookin' thing I had growing on my chin that summer... what was I thinking? _________________ Dennis

Dennis. I think that some of the people are in the wrong areas.
I myself that year was in the kitchen
Vince was handi-craft all by himself
Rob Duarte was the trading post guy
Shaun Gleason was in the kitchen
so was Bill Joyce
Also I think Mike Blaise was in scoutcraft with you...
I know we are getting old and stuff...
All this is for 1989 _________________ Do or do not there is no try.... Yoda |

now for 1990
hmmm...
Two over to the right from Brian Young is Brian Rego.
And that's all I can remember. I'm getting older. Or more things need to fit in my head and to make room I have pushed other things out. _________________ Do or do not there is no try.... Yoda |

Could very well be -- that year was a bit of a blur (I had both Camp School and worked the National Jamboree staff that summer). Mike couldn't have been in Scoutcraft, though -- at least not with me, since I was a Program Commissioner that year. If it was his last year on staff, he might have been Assistant Ranger. _________________ Dennis

You were program commissioner that year (1989)? I remember coming out of the kitchen during webelos overnight camp and teaching that year in scoutcraft. We were so busy with overnight camp that year I worked in the kicthen and scoutcraft. I kind of remember you being in there. I think we had the scouts tie Mike to a tree every week with scout knots. _________________ Do or do not there is no try.... Yoda |

Peter and I spent '89 and '90 trading off Program Commissioner and Archery Range director (we'd swap week-by-week.) I was Scoutcraft Director from '86 through '88. I remember people being tied to things, but none of them were Mike. _________________ Dennis

Now that Tom has jogged my memory. Maybe it was him who condoned the tying people to the tree. Maybe not condoned but look the other way. _________________ Do or do not there is no try.... Yoda |

Jay Here, two years after the last post.
For 86 I worked in the Kitchen the last two weeks, I was never actually a CIT. If I remember correctly I replaced someone who was either fired or had too leave. My dad might remember.
In 1990 my brother worked in the kitchen. |
