Our Homecoming and Diamond Jubilee Celebration

We plan to gather at Cachalot on Saturday, September 18, 2021 for an event combining our annual Homecoming, a celebration of Cachalot's 75th Anniversary and the induction of our 2020 and 2021 Wall of Fame honorees! This should be a fantastic day at camp with old friends, and we hope you'll be able to join us! If it's been a while since you've last visited, we'll have tours to take you around to the spots you remember and show you what's changed.

More information will be made available on our various social media channels, and on our 75th Anniversary landing page on the Association's web site.

Nominations for the Wall of Fame Still Open

To serve the Association's responsibility to preserve the history of Camp Cachalot, we established the Camp Cachalot Wall of Fame in 2010. Modeled after other “Hall of Fame”-type institutions, the Camp Cachalot Wall of Fame is intended to be a lasting memorial to the people and organizations that have been instrumental in the success of Cachalot and the experiences of those who have attended Cachalot over the years. Our inaugural class of honorees included Albert Hall, L. Fred Prefontaine, Sumner Morse, and the George W. P. Magee Foundation, and we've gone on to recognize another nineteen Scouters and organizations in the decade since.

The nomination period for the 2021 Wall of Fame ballot is still open; any nomination received on or before June 14 will be considered for this year's ballot. Anyone may submit a nomination, but only the registered members of the Association may cast ballots. For more information on the eligibility rules, the voting process, and to download a nomination form, please please visit the Wall of Fame page on the Association's web site.

Memories of Cachalot: Borrowing Camp Squanto's Sign

The second installment of our Memories of Cachalot interview series is here! This episode features Thomas Gregory Motta, a member of Cachalot's waterfront staff from 1973 to 1978. Greg (or Tom, depending on when you first met him) talks to us about his motivations for joining the staff, remembrances of other camp staffers, camp songs, the rivalry with Camp Squanto, and an unfortunate staff outing to Lincoln Park.

Merchandise Coming Soon

Here's a preview of the patch design for our 75th Anniversary. The design is centered around the design of Cachalot's first camp patch, with elements you should recognize from other Cachalot memorabilia over the years. Limited-edition and regular versions of this patch are coming soon, along with other merchandise still to be announced:
